Katsuko Shiroyama has been a consistent name in the news of politics and

business for over 20 years and is generally a well-respected public figure.

Considered to be a woman of exceptional grace and wit, Katsuko earned the

respect of the Japanese public when she first ran for a seat in the House of

Representatives after her parents' ungraceful departure in her late 20’s. 

After successfully sitting in both houses of the National Diet for over a decade, Katsuko

surprised her peers by stepping back from the political sphere despite having the support to run for higher office. Being married for 23 years while also being the mother of 2 successful children, Katsuko explained her reasons for leaving as wanting to be supportive of her family’s endeavors. Currently, she is holding her position as the lead public relations officer in the technology research conglomerate Modern|Future.
